Friday – Game One
USC Union Bantams won their series against Mott Community College (Michigan) at home on Friday, February 25 and Saturday, February 26. Bantams nabbed the lead late in the game in a 12-9 victory over Mott Community College on Friday. The Bantams trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Cayden Maxwell singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.
The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. Bantams collected seven hits and Mott Community College had eight.
Mott Community College got things moving in the first inning as Werner drew a walk, scoring one runThey went on to score scored four runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Mott Community College came thanks to walks by Slezak and Selleck and singles by Stewart and Bartolomucci.
Trevor Linaman led things off on the hill for the Bantams. The hurler went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out two.
Smith was on the pitcher's mound for Mott Community College. The pitcher surrendered two runs on three hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two. Kerr, Zabonick, and Jenkinson each contributed in relief for Mott Community College.

Jacob Davis doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. They notched three runs in the sixth inning. The Bantams offense in the inning was led by Davis and Kaleb Small, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Bryson Daniel led things off on the mound for the Bantams. The ace surrendered four runs on three hits over five innings, striking out three and walking one.
Morris was on the mound for Mott Community College. The pitcher went four innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out three. Torrez threw two innings out of the bullpen.
Vespe went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Bantams in hits.
Saturday – Game One
Bantams watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 9-3 loss to Mott Community College on Saturday. Mott Community College scored on a triple by Stewart and a groundout by Giraud in the first inning.
The Bantams struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Mott Community College, giving up nine runs.
Mott Community College opened up scoring in the first inning, when Stewart tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Mott scored five runs in the seventh inning. Selleck, Cole, Stahr, and Slezak all drove in runs in the frame. Jaworski was on the pitcher's mound for Mott Community College. The bulldog went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out nine.
Eric Yelton started the game for Bantams. The bulldog surrendered four runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out one. Chris Loreto, Trent Northrup, and Jaymenson Huff each contributed in relief for Bantams.
Nick Bailey led Bantams with two hits in two at bats.
Mott Community College collected ten hits. Schuster, Giraud, and Stewart each collected multiple hits for Mott Community College. Schuster went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Mott Community College in hits.
Saturday – Game Two
Bantams defeated Mott Community College 4-3 on Saturday thanks to a walk-off single. The game was tied at three with Bantams batting in the bottom of the seventh when Matt Lake singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Mott Community College fired up the offense in the second inning, when DeFlorio grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Bantams tied things up at three when Malik Price singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Elijah Tydings got the start for Bantams. The ace went five innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out three.
Stahr led things off on the mound for Mott Community College. The hurler surrendered one run on five hits over four and a third innings, striking out four. Butcher and Perry entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and one inning respectively.
The Bantams smacked one home run on the day. Elier Sanchez had a homer in the sixth inning.
Bantams collected nine hits on the day as Sanchez and Lake all managed multiple hits. Lake and Sanchez all had two hits to lead Bantams.
Mott Community College was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Shagena had the most chances in the field with eight.
