USC Union Defeats Limestone in Doubleheader

Game 1: Limestone was first on the board in the first game when an error scored a run, but the Bantams took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Mason Elrod singled, and Tyler Strickland singled, each scoring one run.

A single by Michael Adams gave USC Union the lead, 3-2 in the bottom of the second. The Bantams added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Brett Boone homered to the right field, and Strickland singled, each scoring one run.

Brayden Corn hit a solo home run to right field in the bottom of the fifth. Landen Vo earned the win for the Bantams. The reliever surrendered one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Trevor Merck stepped on the hill first for USC Union. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out four and walking one. Limestone's starting pitcher gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking one. Jordan Fricks collected the save. Kam Lusk appeared in relief. USC Union won the game 6-4.

The Bantams accumulated 10 hits in the game. Adams, Strickland, and Elrod each collected two hits. Strickland went 2-for-3 at the plate as the infielder led the team with two runs batted in. USC Union stole five bases and turned one double play in the game.
