Bantams Split with USC Lancaster

Kris Levensteins drove in four runs on two hits to lead USC Union past USC Lancaster on Monday April 22. In the fifth inning, Levensteins hit a grand slam to right field.

The Bantams scored eight runs in the fifth inning on the way to victory. Brayden Corn singled, scoring one run, Levensteins hit a grand slam to right field, and Andy LaPerle homered to center field, scoring three runs.

USC Union got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Tyler Strickland drew a walk, scoring one run, and Vince Alvarez doubled, scoring three runs.

The Bantams added one run in the third. Clayton Goff grounded out, making the score 5-1.

Mason Stepp earned the win for the Bantams, allowing three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out two and walking one. Blake Baldwin stepped on the mound first for the Bantams. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and two runs over three innings, striking out three and walking three.

USC Union accumulated 12 hits in the game. Blake Exizian went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead USC Union in hits. Brett Boone, Corn, and Alvarezeach collected multiple hits for the Bantams. Corn led USC Union with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. USC Union didn't commit a single error in the field. Alvarez had the most chances in the field with six.
