On Tuesday, Sept. 26, the USC Union Men's Soccer team won 2-1 against Spartanburg Methodist College.
Though SMC scored early in the game, Nico Steinweg, forward, scored an unassisted goal at the 38-minute mark with two shots and one shot on the goal. Afonso De Noromha, winger, scored a goal at the 59-minute mark with one shot on the goal and an assist from Mila Mzamane (pictured above). Goalie Colby Suber completed five saves out of six shots on the goal and Goalie Maximillian Diebold completed two saves out of two shots on the goal. Mzamane is currently ranked #1 in assists in Division I with 12 assists.
The team had another win on Friday, Sept. 29, beating USC Salkehatchie 3-1. Adrian Williams, center, scored an unassisted goal at the 42-minute mark with two shots and one shot on the goal. Ben Roder, defender, scored a goal at the 48-minute mark with one shot on the goal and an assist from winger Chris Neilson. Nico Steinweg, forward, scored a goal at the 51-minute mark with one shot on the goal and an assist from defender Dillon Charping. Goalie Donovan Cobb completed 11 saves out of 12 shots on the goal.
