Lady Bantams Softball Sweeps Florence Darlington Tech

USCU Bantams Varsity ran off with the lead late in the game in a 17-11 victory over Florence Darlington Technical College on Saturday. The game was tied at 11 with USCU Bantams Varsity batting in the top of the seventh when Hannah Truett homered on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.

Truett led USCU Bantams Varsity to victory by driving in four runs.  Truett went 2-for-2 at the plate.  Truett drove in runs on a single in the second and a home run in the seventh.

USCU Bantams Varsity got on the board in the first inning.  Gracie Starnes tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, Florence Darlington Technical College tied things up at 11. Florence Darlington Technical College scored one run when #15 singled.

Starnes was in the pitcher's circle for USCU Bantams Varsity. The pitcher surrendered three runs on two hits over one-third of an inning, walking zero.

#10 started the game for Florence Darlington Technical College. The bulldog allowed seven hits and eight runs over four innings, striking out three.  #27 threw three innings in relief.

USCU Bantams Varsity hit two home runs on the day. Truett had a homer in the seventh inning. Emma Chapman had a dinger in the first inning.

USCU Bantams Varsity collected 17 hits.  Madison Goossens, Chapman, Starnes, Truett, Madison Truett, and DeAnna Sweat all managed multiple hits for USCU Bantams Varsity. Goossens led USCU Bantams Varsity with four hits in five at bats.

Florence Darlington Technical College saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game.  #19, #1, #4, #23, #11, and #15 each collected multiple hits for Florence Darlington Technical College.
